Wells Family Explores The California Volcanic Legacy

Mount Shasta at sunset

The bad news...the boat is no longer in Tahoe. The good news...we are free to roam again! Our first road trip was Labor Day weekend, which took us to the Cascade Mountain Range in Northern California! Our neighbors gave us the key to their cabin in McCloud, which is just down the road from Mount Shasta. We spent a day exploring McCloud and Lava Beds National Monument. On our way home, we drove through Lassen Volcanic National Park. Unfortunately, Lassen warrants more time and older kids so we can hike to the really "hot" spots of the park... Downtown McCloud
