This year, Greg took up duck hunting thanks to our neighbor Brad. The season in California is three months long. By the end of the season, Greg became pretty good. On the last day of the season, he ended up with a snow goose and 4 ducks! At this time, he's the only one in the family who appreciates eating duck! Although too young, I have a feeling Finn will be following in his dad's footsteps...

Palm Springs
Last weekend, we took a trip down to Palm Springs to spend time with the Hartgerink Family! Palm Springs was unseasonably warm with temperatures in the mid-80's! Our first day in Palm Springs, we spent time with Carol and Doug Hartgerink, Phil's parents, who reside in Palm Springs for the winter. We also celebrated Greg's Birthday!
On Sunday, we took the kids to "The Living Desert", which is a zoo in Palm Desert, just outside of Palm Springs. The Girraffes were a big hit...so was the petting zoo. Following the zoo, we briefly explored the Palm Desert Flea Market. Of course a day would not be complete with out time at the pool!!On Monday, we took a trip up the mountain via the Palm Springs Tram!! The Tram takes you up 8500ft and provides spectacular views of the valley! Once at the top, we took a short hike in the snow...did I mention that we were in our shorts...it was 61 degrees after all!
On Tuesday, we departed Palm Springs for the long drive home. Part of our drive took us through the Mojave Desert...we will definately have to return when we have more time to explore...
Here are a few mor pictures...
